Things get complicated when he meets Worldly Wisdom and her sister, Heavenly. In the Valley of Shadow, dangers and temptations await. Ethereal shadows hurl fiery darts that send an injured Jejune off course, but danger isn’t always so obvious.

To make matters worse, Jejune learns that he has the Condition; no one with it can be granted citizenship to the Eternal City. His friends Understanding, Prudence and Humility help him see there’s only one answer. But can he follow the Narrow Way and find Truth?

Praise for this book

Wonderful writing, beautiful message, and good for all ages.

Because of the powerful imagery and the message of the book, this story worked its way into my dreams several times during the weeks I spent reading it. It made quite an impression on me. I went through all kinds of emotions as I read, rooting for Jejune and other characters, getting frustrated with some of their choices, and feeling proud of them when they made good decisions--as if they were my own children. It was truly an adventure!

As I was reading, I kept reflecting on my own life as a Christian. Even beyond the beautiful weaving of metaphors, there's a depth to this story that compels you to inspect your own heart, behaviors, and motivations (at least it did for me). I appreciated the glossary at the end explaining the people's names and places. Each one had its own meaning, with its own lesson.

The pacing was excellent, too. I always read it during the day, so my goal when I sat down for a break was usually "just one chapter," but then I'd find myself finishing two or three between tasks.

Wonderful writing, beautiful message, and good for all ages.

Love that you can't put this book down

Amazing story, it draws you in and it's hard to put down.
I bought the book on Google play books.
But I'm buying the paperback copy too.
So that I can share.

Thought Provoking - pun intended

Sundblad's story is a creative tale about one's journey through life as the main character struggles against falling into line behind "the crowd" and seeking truth. It's a modern day "Pilgrim's Progress meets The Giver" - but is an original creation and a work of art in it's own right.
It's a story for all ages, though younger readers may not completely grasp hidden meanings of symbolism woven intricately and skillfully throughout the tale as it unfolds into a story - you won't want to put dow

Entertaining

For me, this book was well written. very entertaining, I didn't want to put it down. it took me on a journey that I will not soon forget.
