Each day this December I'm participating in the Fantasy Indies December. December 7th's post is to be a snippet from one of my books. Today's topic is magic. The snippet I chose is from Beyond the Fifth Gate at a point in the story where the earth has swallowed Elita. She's clutching a special egg to her chest. Her lungs scream for air. The sound of Kamali's presence thrums. A flash of light and she stops, weightless and wrapped in warmth.
